Gerry's BBQ - Savoy Mountain Dry Rub (traditional) recipe is considered sweet & mild. 'Our customers have asked us for more of an Caribbean Island zest.  You won't be disappointed. On a hotness scale of 1 to 10 we're told our Jammin' Dry Rub is about a five (5 - 6), however, your taste buds may vary. Our Jammin' Dry Rub has just the right amount of Jerk Spice to bring your mouth back to Jamaica... The Jammin' Dry Rub is well balanced to let the flavor of the meat come through. Even with the Jerk Spice, the brown sugar helps keep this rub on the medium to hot side. 

Our Jammin' Dry Rub is a hand-crafted blend of light brown sugar, ground sea salt, Paprika, Chili Powder, Ground Black Pepper, Cayenne Pepper,  Jerk Spice (see below) and Garlic Powder. Our dry rub contains no MSG or artificial additives. 

Jerk spice. Jerk seasoning principally relies upon two items: allspice (Jamaican Pimento) and Scotch bonnet peppers (among the hottest peppers on the Scoville scale). Other ingredients include cloves, cinnamon, scallions, nutmeg, thyme, garlic, which is mixed together to form a marinade which is rubbed onto beef, pork, chicken, or fish. Our package contains approximately one dry cup.
